The Agromech is a common variant of the astromech droid outfitted specifically to assist in various
agricultural facilities. Because this type of work is alot less demanding the capabilities of the droid have
been reduced, making it basicly a very stripped down version of the astromech. It is often used for
repairing and maintaining machinery, such as large scale Agro-Tractor Droids,on largely automated
farms. It is more popular on some worlds for this than Treadwell Droids because of it's reduced cost and
ability to work independently. However, the Treadwell Droids are more versatile, and are more popular
galaxy wide as a result. Programming will vary according to the owners needs, the above is a common
configuration. This droid appears in Star Wars: A New Hope in the Jawa lineup at the Skywalker Ranch,
and similar droids are seen on the streets of Mos Eisely.

Droids have fulfilled the role of assassin almost since there have been droids. These droids are highly
illegal in all areas of the galaxy. This particular droid is a modified Asp with hidden arm blades that
retract into the forearms, and a miniature rail gun, also in the forearm. Rail guns use magnetic rails to
launch projectiles instead of chemicals or high energy output. This means the droids weapons will not be
detected by most scanners. Asps are general purpose droids often used for menial labor, and this droid is
equipped to blend in perfectly in this type of environment until its programmed target appears. All of it's
important skills and target information are hard coded to protect it from memory wipes. While this droid
does not appear in the Trilogy per se, an example of the body style appears to be loading a cargo ship in
the Star Wars Special Edition.

The demolitionmech is a droid created for use in the dangerous activities of planting and disarming
explosives. The droid consists of a semi-opaque durasteel dome over a low riding droid body on treads.
The droid can see through the dome to work its manipulator arm. These droids are more common than
many would suspect, being used in construction, demolition, and mining activities on almost every world
in the Empire. This droid appears in Star Wars: A New Hope in the Jawa lineup at the Skywalker
Ranch, and I believe once on the streets of Mos Eisely

As the New Order grew so did the red tape and bureaucracy that became the glue holding the new
government together. Many Imperial officials, from the lowly local administators to the loftiest
admirals and Moffs, had a hard time wading through the mountains of paperwork required to do
their job. After repeated requests from its customers, Cybot Galactica finally responded with a
droid specifically designed to act as an aid or secretary, assisting Imperial officials of all levels in
dealing with the bureaucracy. These droids are a modified version of the popular protocol droids in
use throughout the galaxy, often referred to as "aide"s, but are not yet in wide use themselves.
While this droid does not appear in the Trilogy per se, an example of one of the body styles
available is found in the form of a silver humanoid droid inside the Jawa Sandcrawler, and again
walking the halls of the Death Star. These droids are found with a number of different body styles,
however, and any form used by a protocol droid is appropriate.

Labor droids are the faceless workmen of the galaxy. The come in all sizes and configurations, this is a
standard low cost model often seen at space ports and other centers of distribution. Most major
companies and governments will have more specialized droids for different locales, types of cargo, etc.
but the AG-4 is a standard design that has been manufactured for hundreds of years and operates
successfully and anonymously without fail across the galaxy. Most labor droids are programmed with
limited intelligence and require supervision for complex duties, but function well autonomously on
simple repetetive tasks. This is an original droid that does not appear in any of the movies, but it is most
likened to the droid operating the torture device in the "Droid Dungeon" of Jabba's Palace in Return of
The Jedi.

Labor droids are the faceless workmen of the galaxy. The come in all sizes and configurations, this is a
standard low cost model often seen at space ports and other centers of distribution. Most major
companies and governments will have more specialized droids for different locales, types of cargo, etc..
The BLX series is a standard design that has been discontinued for decades but remains popular in
certain Outer Rim areas, and on the fringes of the Corporate Sector Authority. Most labor droids are
programmed with limited intelligence and require supervision for complex duties, but function well
autonomously on simple repetetive tasks. This is an interpretation of what a "stock" version of the BLX
series droid would be. The droid comes from the Han Solo series of books. One of the main characters,
"Bollux" is a modified droid of this type.

Power Droids are the legendary workhorses of the droid world. They can work for days without
charging and can take incredible damage without stopping. This is because they are literally walking
batteries, capable of storing massive amounts of power that they use to recharge vehicles, weapons,
equiptment, and other droids. They are one of the more necessary components in a high tech society.
They keep everything else going, and going, and going.
Power Droids can be seen in Star Wars: A New Hope at the Skywalker homestead, in the Jawa lineup
and on the streets of Mos Eisely. One can also be seen in Return of The Jedi being tortured in the "Droid
Dungeon".

This is a simple security droid manufactured for use as an impromptu personal guard. The design is
highly favored by many crimelords and planetary governors because it is cheap and easy to maintain.
This droid is modeled after ones found in the Dark Horse Comics' Droids series, issue #4, acting
as bodyguards for a Hutt crimelord.

Slicer Droids were created as a more controllable version of the sentient Slicer. Most Slicer Droids
however were programmed by slicers themselves. They are created for the purpose of breaking into
secure networks, retrieving, decrypting, and forging data. Both intelligence and criminal rganizations
employ these droids. Many Imperial and Rebel victories have rested largely on their efforts. This type
of droid is styled off of the standard Industrial Automaton R2 unit. This allows them to move freely,
without arrousing undue suspicions. They do not appear in the Trilogy per se, but any body style used for
Astromech droids is usable here.

Droids have become one of the main sources of cheap labor in the galaxy. For the price of a sentient
beings years salary, or less, you can have a droid that can work for a hundred years with ew complaints.
This does not mean they are maintenence free. Droids require mechanical upkeep, nd frequent memory
wipes to stay productive. In addition they require some form of supervisory taff to keep things focused.
Human supervisors are the most common form, for dealing with workforces that are mixed sentient and
droids. For all-droid workforces MerenData developed a special supervisor droid. Originally it was
intended only for use in MerenData's own factories, but as other companies heard about MerenData's
success with them the became a demand. MerenData has released a few variants on the droid for
different work environments, but the stats above are for the base model. While this droid does not
appear in the Trilogy per se, an example of one would be the supervisor in Jabba the Hutt's droid
dungeon. That is a different model, but it serves a similar purpose.

The Imperial Surveilance Droid was created in response to Imperial officers requests for a droid that
could aid stormtroopers in search missions, for which they are not specifically trained. Some argue it is
based on the Criminal Location Detection Droid (Galaxy Guide 11, page 92). Others ay it's a stripped
down version of Arakyd's Imperial Probe Droid. Regardless of it's origins it has become a staple item
on most Star Destoyer's Landing Craft. The Surveilance Droid is visible in Star Wars: A New Hope
Special Edition. It is seen flitting around behind the stormtrooper interrogating Luke and Ben about the
droids. Then later with a group of stormtroopers searching the streets the of Mos Eisely for the droids.

The Treadwell Droid is a commonly used droid for effecting repairs on all manner of mechanical and
technical equiptment. It is used in space ports and military facilities to assist in repairing vehicles and
starships, they are used on farms for repairing vaporators and other equiptment, they are used on
construction projects, and can be found on capital ships and space stations. The Treadwell Droid is
visible in Star Wars: A New Hope in a cut scene with Luke on the Skywalker Ranch, again in the Jawa
lineup in that movie, and helping Han Solo repair the Millenium Falcon on Hoth in The Empire Strikes
Back.

13. DR-LK EXTERMINATOR DROID
These relatively primitive droids preform the necessary, if humble, function of eliminating small
pests and parasites from a
number of environments. In form, the DR-LK have a pepperpot type body, with a dome shaped head
equipped with the electric charge
gun that they use for elimination of the unwanted invertebrates and small vertebrates. DR-LKs travel on
low grade repulsorlifts
which allow them to climb stairs despite their broad lower bodies. DR-LKs are incredibly stupid, even
for droids, and are known to repeat their function aloud, just to remind themselves what they are
supposed to be doing. For some reason, a DR-LK wandering about, muttering "Ex-terminate, Ex-
terminate" has been known to provoke extremely violent reactions among adventurer types, especially
among individuals experimenting with interdimensional travel. This usually winds up with the
destruction of the inoffensive droid, and if the room happened to
be magnetically sealed, the deaths of one or two of those firing at it.
